Lead the Climate Future

Fight pollution, lower energy costs, and build a cleaner future that working families can actually afford.

Scott believes climate action and affordability should go hand in hand. Families should be able to breathe cleaner air, pay less to power and cool their homes, and live in communities designed around transit, resilience, and public health. California can continue to lead on climate even when Washington moves backward — but that leadership has to be real, implementable, and connected to daily life. Scott’s local record shows that he understands both the urgency of the climate crisis and the practical work of making progress.

Scott’s record

  • Led the effort to prioritize and update Union City’s climate action plan.

  • Helped expand electric bus service and secured funding for public transit and bike lanes.

  • Increased support for solar energy, recycling, and composting.

  • Serves on the board of Ava Community Energy, where he has worked to expand cleaner power and clean energy incentives.

What Scott will fight for in the State Senate

  • Defend and strengthen California’s emissions standards and clean air and water protections.

  • Lower energy costs by holding monopoly utilities accountable and expanding community energy, rooftop solar, battery storage, and cleaner transportation.

  • Ensure the biggest contributors to climate damage bear more of the cost.

  • Oppose new fossil fuel projects that lock in more pollution and more climate harm, while supporting a just transition for workers and affected communities.

  • Build more homes near transit and jobs, electrify buildings and vehicles, and expand access to climate benefits for renters, multifamily residents, and working families.

  • Protect wildlife, wetlands, and Bay habitat, improve water quality, and prepare for sea-level rise and other climate impacts.

For Scott, climate leadership is not just about meeting targets. It is about building healthier communities, reducing household costs, and making sure the next generation inherits a California that is cleaner, safer, and more resilient than the one we have now.
