AAPI LEGISLATIVE CAUCUS BACKS SCOTT SAKAKIHARA FOR STATE SENATE DISTRICT 10

(Union City, CA) – Today, Democratic candidate for California State Senate District 10 Scott Sakakihara announced that the California Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Legislative Caucus has endorsed his campaign.

“I am honored to have earned this endorsement,” said Scott Sakakihara. “The California AAPI Legislative Caucus does critical work to represent, connect, and elevate one of the fastest growing communities in California. My State Senate District is particularly diverse–with a rich array of AAPI communities and cultures. In the State Senate, I will do all that I can to champion the diversity of my district and our great state, to uplift all voices, and to build a California with real opportunity for everyone.”

The California AAPI Legislative Caucus is made up of legislators who serve as ambassadors for the AAPI community in California's state government, fight to make sure that AAPI community voices are heard in the halls of power, and seek to uplift the AAPI community and be an ally to others. They also work to elect AAPI candidates to the California State Legislature.

The CA AAPI Legislative Caucus joins a broad and growing coalition endorsing Sakakihara’s campaign, including the Alameda County Firefighters Local 55, former Congressman Mike Honda, former Assemblymember Bill Quirk, Alameda County Assessor Phong La, Alameda County Supervisor Elisa Márquez, and current and former Mayors from Hayward, Newark, Union City, Albany, Berkeley, and Piedmont.
